The new wave of young women using botox to prevent ageing

No longer the reserve of those wanting to turn back time, Botox and fillers are now being used to help with prevention.

After all, offence is the best defence. Celebrities such as Kylie Jenner have brought about a new sense of freedom amongst women to choose what treatments they would like, no longer feeling ashamed to undergo cosmetics procedures, more women are being open and honest about what measures they are using to take care of their skin.

This empowering trend has grown amongst YouTubers and beauty bloggers as more and more millennials turn to online beauty gurus for inspiration. For example, Jaclyn Hill, Tati and Chloe Morello have all been open about their love of Botox and lip fillers, whether to prevent the early signs of ageing in the form of fine lines or to add a bit of confidence in the form of the perfect pout. After all, makeup can only do so much.
More and more beauty vloggers are filming their beauty treatments, with The Sass being a YouTube programme dedicated to cosmetic procedures whether they are invasive or not. This is an empowering movement, designed to let women share their top tips on cosmetic procedures and say that it’s more than OK to have these procedures done.
The advice from these women is clear: make sure you are certain about any procedure before you have it done. Make sure to research any practitioners so that you get the safest experience possible. Starting small and building is the best way to achieve a more natural look.
Women in their early twenties are now not only using skincare to take care of their skin, but using procedures in small doses to help their skin stay plump and line free. No longer do we have to wait for the signs of ageing before adding Botox or fillers. It’s all about being as confident as possible and if ensuring your skin will stay younger for longer helps with that, then cosmetic procedures are an excellent long-term investment. What can a liquid facelift do for you?

Non-surgical facelifts are becoming increasingly popular within the UK, mainly thanks to the shorter recovery period and lack of pain compared to a more traditional facelift.

Chief among these is what is known as a liquid facelift. You may have heard of this procedure, but may not be totally clear on what it involves, which is where we can help.

What is a liquid facelift?

As part of the suite of non-surgical facial treatments, a liquid facelift will help reduce the signs of ageing as a traditional surgical facelift would. The real beauty of the liquid version is that, due to there being no surgery involved, the pain felt afterwards is reduced greatly.
People also like them as there isn’t a lengthy recovery time and you can be back on your feet or at work in no time. Another bonus for this type of non-surgical beauty treatment is that they are perfect if you just don’t fancy having surgery done at all.

How does a liquid facelift work?

When administering this type of treatment, approved relaxants and fillers are injected into the face with small needles. These will work with your face to help you look younger and improve any wrinkles as a normal facelift would. Sagging facial skin can also be targeted with this sort of procedure, and, for many people, this is the main benefit they take from it.

Common liquid facelift questions

There are a whole range of different questions around this non-surgical procedure that you will want to know the answers to. As always, the best thing to do is check with the professional performing the facelift before deciding to go ahead with it.
In general, the procedure duration is around an hour and the results should last between 6 and 12 months. You should be fully recovered within 48 hours, although it can vary for individuals.
If you would like to know more about this type of non-surgical procedure, then get in touch with First Clinical today. Our professional team will be able to assist in discussing your individual requirements – see how we can help you stay looking great!

Lip filler dos and don’ts!

Lip fillers have become exceptionally popular over the last few years, as people go in search of a luscious, plump pout.

Of course, Kylie Jenner’s transformation springs to mind, but there are many other celebrities that admit to having a little bit of enhancement. This includes the likes of former The Hills star Heidi Montag, Lisa Rinna, pop princess Jessica Simpson, Jennifer Hudson, and superstar Lady Gaga.

If you are considering celebrity lip fillers, here are some dos and don’ts:

DO use an extra pillow when you go to bed. A little elevation the night of your treatment will help to prevent swelling.
DON’T expect your lip enhancements to last forever. To maintain results you are happy with, it is advisable to have lip filler treatment once every six to nine months.
DO have an idea of what you want. It can be helpful if you bring in pictures of the look you want to achieve.
DON’T be scared if your lips end up a little bit bruised and swollen. Your lips are a delicate, vascular area, and so sometimes it can be impossible to avoid swelling and bruising.
DO be realistic with your expectations. A lot of people expect to have Kylie Jenner lips after their first treatment. However, her lips are as they are because the injections were spaced apart. You should not expect such drastic results with one treatment.
DON’T massage your lips after the treatment. If you do this, you may end up inadvertently reducing the volume achieved by squishing the dermal filler too flat.
DO let your clinician know if you have suffered from facial cold sores. They may be able to prescribe medication to minimise the recurrence.
DON’T use non-steroidal, anti-inflammatory medications like ibuprofen or aspirin, nor should you use a high dose of vitamin E supplements before your treatment. This will increase your risk of bleeding and bruising, as medication like this can cause the blood to thin.
DO ice afterwards. It is a good idea to ice your lips once you have had the treatment. This will help considerably with the swelling.
So there you have it; follow the tips above and enjoy the new, confident, luscious you! Get in touch with our team at First Clinical Aesthetics to find out more today about lip fillers.
